Lesson DVD installed on a School Server
go back
Details:

One thing you may need to note is that the Greenwood Browser requires access to a Windows-accessible drive letter (such as 'C', 'D'... or 'Z') where the "Lessons" are installed. (Simply linking the computers via TCP/IP is not enough; the computers must be accessible under Windows, i.e. the computers need to be able to "see" each other under Windows.)

The Greenwood system diverts most traffic to the local drive where the "Lessons" are installed, so there are minimal web traffic. The benefit is that heavy multimedia usage (especially in a classroom setting) would not unduly bog down the Internet infrastructure at your school.
